I want to add to your lists:
Stolen Babies (cabaret-ska-thrash rock)
If my first posts in this thread hadn't been from 2006, I would have included them as well. "There Will Be Squabbles Ahead" is already getting close to 300 spins, and that's within just 20 months!

always metal... so boring.
Stolen Babies aren't a metal band, though one might find some metal influences in their music. And they definitely aren't boring.

any 100 % indie, pop, folk or shoegaze band for a change?
I already mentioned several folk-influenced bands from Northern Europe in my first post on page one of this thread and I also recommended several pop-/folk-influenced albums in my post on page 2 of this thread. However, here is another list of definitely non-metal bands/artists (some of which I already mentioned in my previous posts). In most cases, I've included links either to their myspace-page or official website. You should also find videoclips of most of these artists on youtube.
Hedningarna (folk-rock from Sweden/Finland, their albums "kaksi!", "Trä" and "Karelia Visa" feature two Finnish female vocalists)
Garmarna (folk-rock from Sweden)
Gåte (folk-rock from Norway)
Två Fisk Och En Fläsk (medieval/folk from Sweden)
Qntal (medieval electronica?)
Helium Vola (similar to Qntal)
The Bulgarian Voices "Angelite" (formerly known as Le Mystère Des Voix Bulgares)
Suden Aika (a Finnish female vocal quartet)
Divahn (a quote from their official website: "Divahn infuses traditional songs with sophisticated harmonies and arrangements using tabla, cello, rabel, doumbek, violin and other acoustic instruments, plus vocals in Hebrew, Judeo-Spanish, Persian, Arabic, Aramaic and Turkish.
Their beautiful lyricism flows through an intense rhythmic drive. The group distinguishes itself as the only all-female ensemble performing Mizrakhi-influenced music (Jewish music from the Middle East and North Africa) in the US, and has performed with some of the world’s most renowned master musicians, including Glen Velez and Anindo Chatterjee.
Divahn, a word common to Hebrew, Persian, and Arabic, means a collection of songs or poetry. Through its music, Divahn seeks to underscore common ground shared between diverse Middle Eastern cultures and religions. The group captures the breadth and diversity of Mizrakhi and Sephardi music throughout the centuries, while simultaneously creating and redefining innovative directions for the music in the present.")
Female solo artists:
Kari Bremnes (Norwegian chansons; mixture of pop/rock/jazz)
Mari Boine (yoik-chanting with a mixture of rock/folk/jazz)
Ghalia Benali (I just quote a description from the CD-booklet of her first album "Wild Harissa" which she recorded with Timnaa: "Timnaa's music has many roots - classical Arab music from Jordania, Iran and, above all, Tunisia;...Andalusian guitar sounds and jubilant fiddling that transports the listener to another world...Virtuoso violins, Flamenco guitars and Arab percussion array her expressive, profoundly emotive and smokey voice from Tunisia to Andalusia, with excursions to the Balkans, Brazil and back to the Middle East.")
Natacha Atlas (Arabian pop?)
Parissa (classical Persian music)
Sima Bina (classical/traditional Persian music)
Mahsa VahdatSainkho Namtchylak (impossible to label, thus avantgarde?)
